This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • The DailyAdventure mobile app (iOS and Android)
  • The DailyAdventure website (dailyadventureapp.com)

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • General location — if you grant location permission, we use your coordinates to find nearby events, restaurants, and attractions. We do not store your precise location history on our servers
  • Calendar data — if you grant calendar permission, the app reads your events to suggest adventures that fit your free time. Calendar data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with anyone
  • App usage data — screens visited, features used, and general interaction patterns, collected via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app
  • Crash and error reports — technical error data collected to identify and fix bugs

  • Cookies — our website uses cookies for standard WordPress functionality (session management, comment forms). You can disable cookies in your browser settings
  • Comments — if you leave a comment on our website, we collect your name, email address, and the comment text. An anonymized hash of your email may be shared with Gravatar to display a profile photo
  • Analytics — standard web analytics to understand site traffic (pages viewed, general location, referral source)

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide personalized daily adventure recommendations based on your preferences, location, and calendar

We do not use your information for advertising targeting, sell it to data brokers, or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Affiliate disclosure: When you tap “Book on Viator,” DailyAdventure may earn an affiliate commission. This does not affect which experiences are shown or their price to you.

6. Location Data

If you grant location permission, your coordinates are sent to our secure Cloud Functions to retrieve nearby places from Google Places and events from Ticketmaster. Your location is used only in real time to generate suggestions — we do not build a location history or store your coordinates beyond the immediate request.

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will continue to function using San Diego’s city center coordinates as a default.

7. Calendar Data

If you grant calendar permission, the app reads your upcoming events locally on your device to suggest adventures that fit your free time. Calendar data never leaves your device. It is not sent to our servers, not shared with any third party, and not retained after the app session.

You can revoke calendar permission at any time in your device settings.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

DailyAdventure Premium is an auto-renewing subscription managed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never see, receive, or store your payment card information. Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled according to Apple’s and Google’s respective policies.

9. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Anonymous authentication means most users never need to provide an email address or create a password.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

  • App data — retained as long as your account exists or until you delete it through the app
  • Local device data — stored in your device’s app storage and removed when you delete the app or use “Reset All Data” in Settings
  • Website comments — retained indefinitely unless you request deletion
  • Support messages — retained for up to 2 years to assist with follow-up requests

11. Children’s Privacy

DailyAdventure is designed for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@dailyadventureapp.com and we will delete it promptly.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect and share, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

European residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (improving the app), contractual necessity (providing the service), and your consent (location and calendar permissions). You may withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dailyadventureapp.com. We will respond within 30 days.

13. Cookies (Website)

Pages on our website may include embedded content (videos, social posts, etc.) from other sites such as YouTube or Instagram. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited those websites directly and may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction with that content.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
